Between every hand, the cards will be shuffled by a dealer into a “new random order”. With games like Seven Card Stud, the deal starts with a first player on the dealer’s left.

A round of betting takes place after dealing the “beginning cards”. Further betting rounds take place as added cards are dealt, depending on the type of game. The betting continues in a clockwise direction from every player going round the table until all players have had the chance to check, call, bet, raise, or fold.

After every card has been dealt, as well as the final round of betting completed, the remaining players within the hand shows their cards; the player with the best hand wins the pot.


Poker Basic Terminologies
The “hand” is the combination of different cards that a player creates to beat possible strong hands that other players hold.

To “fold” means to decline in calling bets or raising through surrendering the players cards. A player forfeits whatever money is in pot, no longer has the chance to win it.
